Titanista maailman nopein

Titan was considered to be a contender for top spot ever since it was unveiled two weeks ago. It can perform 17.59 quadrillion calculations per second — a quadrillion calculations per second is called a petaflop — according to the Linpack benchmark that’s used to rank the systems in the twice-yearly Top500 list.

Supertietokoneiden tehot ovat nousseet jo vuosikymmenien ajan. TOP500:ssa oli 3 suomalaista ja kiinalaisia oli 72. Kiina on huomattavasti isompi superkonemaa kuin esim. Venäjä. Puolet TOP500 koneista on amerikkalaisia.
